Now Chromes has got Material Design facelift - just like other Google apps.
In the current latest version, Chrome also has been updated to have:
- Support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus
- Handoff ability from Chrome on iOS to your default browser on your Mac
- some bug fixes and stability improvements
- Sync across devices: Apple platform and of course Google platform
- Unlimited tabs: open as many as you want, but be considerate that it may slow down your phone
- Translate, Voice search and Incognito mode for private browsing
- Reduce data usage
The last feature is the one I like, because it helps to compress the web page you are trying to visit. Depends on the website that you are visiting, but in my case, I can save up to 82% of my data usage (according to the stats at Chrome browser).
To activate this reduce data usage feature, simply:
- Tap on the three dots on top right of the screen
- Menu will appear, tap on Settings
- Move to advance section, then tap on the bandwidth
- Change preload webpages to only on Wifi
- And tap and turn on the Reduce data usage
Current version 40.0.2214.61 requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with the following iOS devices:
- iPhone 4 and up
- iPod Touch 5th Gen and up
- iPad 2 and up
- iPad Mini and up
