[FREE iPHONE APP] Spaces - Small Group Sharing by Google - In Between WhatsApp and Slack

What is this app about?
A new app made by Google - Spaces is not something related to outer space or sky but rather a new attempt from Google in multi-media messenger war.

Features & How to Use
Login using your Google account, then you can start right away creating space.

Invite others to join your space using "Invite via..." menu on the space.
One space may have multiple Post (Google term for topic) inside where each post you may have multiple replies/chats/discussions.

Inside Post, you can send plain text, send link - including YouTube link, attach photo or taking photo directly from the camera and send sticker. Pretty much the same as most of the messenger out there.

However, unlike the rest of messengers, Spaces allows you to do Google search your link right away from inside the Post, tap on the 'send link' then search. So you don't need to go back and forth between the messenger and the browser to copy url from browser and paste the url to the chat room.
You can also search anything you have in a space from your search bar.

First Impression
To me, Spaces is in between WhatsApp and Slack.

Spaces is not for your daily chit-chatting app like WhatsApp but rather for your group discussion based on topics and interest.
Spaces works more like Slack but without those 'complicated' terms and techie features, no hashtag kind of thing.

The Verdict
Well, you can give it a try. Since it's from Google, there won't be any limitation like you have with free version of Slack. You can post as many as you want.
Another good thing is Spaces is directly available on the web as well. Open spaces.google.com to start/reply to a topic.

What is this app about?
Gboard is the first-ever keyboard made by Google for iPhone.

Main Feature - Direct Search and Share
The main feature of this Google Keyboard is the ability to do Google search directly from any apps anywhere (as long as the apps/games popping up the keyboard) by tapping on the 'G' logo on top left of the keyboard.

Once the results come out, pick any of the relevant result then directly share to anyone directly from the keyboard.
And that's what I (and others called) shortcut.
Can you imagine before Gboard exists, if you want to share something from your search result, how many steps are there?
At least I count 3 'big' steps: 1) open the browser and Google, 2) search for the keyword, 3) once find, make sure to copy whatever you need to copy (url/image/text), then go back to your apps and paste the information you want to share.

Other Features
Apart from direct search and share, Gboard has plenty other amazing features such as swipe typing (Google called it Glide Typing - just like what Swype or SwiftKey can do),

search and send GIF images directly from the keyboard, search and send emoji (faster compare to open the emoji keyboard and find matching one by one).

Google Account
Unfortunately (or it's a fortune?) Gboard doesn't have any function to login to your Google ID. Which means (to me) all the words, sentences including any slank language I usually types are stay with one device only and can't be sync to any other devices. So the next time you upgrade your device/change to other device, your Gboard will be totally new again - unlike SwiftKey in which the app allows you to save all these things, so whenever you change device, you don't need to start brand new.

The Verdict
Gboard is AWESOME! With direct search and share, that makes life a lot easier. Plus with swipe typing makes Gboard is the best keyboard so far for iPhone and iOS devices.
What makes it even more awesome is that, Gboard at the moment I write this article is exclusively only available for iPhone and iOS devices. No Gboard for Android devices yet.

Gameplay and Objectives
Play as Nathan Drake, in his continuous pursuit of uncovering the long-lost treasure, you are situated on a puzzle chambers, your objective is to get the treasure within the steps limit.

Each puzzle chambers will have their own obstacles and unique way to reach the treasures. Sometimes you need to push the obstacles, sometimes you need to shoot the TNT crate to open a way. Use your creativity to solve the puzzle.

The Verdict
Uncharted: Fortune Hunter is a great action puzzle game, and it's not like the usual puzzle game where you need to pop 3 of the same color, but rather to really solve the correct path to retrieve the treasures.

This game is released ahead of it's upcoming PlayStation Uncharted 4 game, in which if you are planning to acquire the 4th series of the game, you can link your mobile game progress to unlock bonus and rewards.

[FREE iPHONE APP] AccuWeather: Weather for Life - Weather Forecasting app with Crowds Forecasting Tech and Tons of other features

What is this app about?
AccuWeather - just as its name suggesting - is a weather-forecasting app.

However, the app has tons of other nice features that other weather forecasting app doesn't have it.

Rich Features
The main feature is of course reporting and giving forecast about weather. Track up to 15 days ahead and track as many locations as you want.

And depends on which country you stay, the developer said it can give up to minutes to minutes forecasting. Unfortunately for Singapore - this is where I stay - is not in the list of countries to have minutes to minutes forecasting, so only hourly forecasting available.

Other than giving forecast whether it's going to be super hot or raining today, the app also gives information such as map view, humidity, UV percentage, wind speed, wind direction, cloud cover, and probability of precipitation.

AccUcast: report your weather condition to the crowd
Do you ever get in this kind of situation where your weather app doesn't report bad weather, say raining, however when you go out, only then you realize actually it's raining outside and you need to go back inside to get an umbrella?
For me, yes, sometimes it happened to me.

Now with AccUcast feature, you can contribute, giving weather condition report to the app - so you can help yourself and others so that they don't get false weather reporting. However this needs you and crowds to submit their weather data, otherwise this feature will not working accurately. The more people submit their weather condition, the more accurate it will be.

This is the main difference between other weather forecasting app that makes AccuWeather is more appealing than the rest.

The Verdict
AccuWeather is a great to have weather forecasting app. All the features is FREE to use, no need to do in-app purchase to unlock something. However, this app will show you ads unless you remove the ads by purchasing the ads-free in-app purchase.
