Office Lens is the newest app from Microsoft that acts like a pocket scanner. It does scanning your real world objects and turning them into 2D readable office image/PDF/Word/Power Point.

Based on my testing, the app not only converts the objects into 2D readable format, but also removes anything unnecessary such as, when I took photo of my ticket, I got my thumb finger on the ticket, however Office Lens removes my finger from the end result. See for yourself.

However, I did test to scan something else, but some of them were not converted properly. So as long as the distinction is clear between the object you want to convert and the area surround the object, Office Lens will convert it correctly.

This app is totally FREE and does not offers any in-app purchases.
This app can be used offline/without internet access. However if you want to upload your document to OneDrive or mail them, internet is required.

Unfortunately this app requires minimum iOS 8.0 or later in order to work. So iPhone 4 users or before iPhone 4 can't use this app to scan their objects.

Current version 1.0.1 requires iOS 8.0 or later. Compatible with the following iOS devices:

Microsoft Outlook is the official Outlook app from Microsoft designed for iPhone and iPad.

Open Word, Excel or PowerPoint document in your iPhone using this new app Office Mobile.

The new app supports charts, animations, SmartArt graphics and shapes, so that your document when opened using this app, will looks like the original document you created on your computer.

The app also supports OneDrive and SharePoint, so you can put your documents to OneDrive or SharePoint first and later fetch them to view/edit within your phone.

What's great is now you can edit without having a 365 office subscription. All you need to do to start editing documents is to create a free Microsoft account.
