Voted as one of the best iPhone app in 2013, Umano is an app for listening to the news articles handpicked and selected by you.
It's pretty much similar to FlipBoard, where you pick any topics that you are interested in, so the news will be customized based on your liking. The difference is FlipBoard is visual (read: text and images only), while Umano is an audio. So Umano is perfect for you who like to listen to podcast or you who prefer audio more than visual.
While the app maker claimed the app has simple and intuitive design, I find the app is a bit lagging.
But overall is still great.
The app has slick car mode, where it is designed for a perfect in-car listening experience.
You can add the news to your playlist.
You can also download the news content so that you can hear them offline. But the download feature is only for premium subscriber.
This app offers in-app purchases to subscribe and enjoy unlimited downloads of the news articles.
